I've just bought my first Golf, a 2002 mark IV. Every time I turn on the ignition the clock only counts the time I've been driving. How do i set it so it tells the time?

That in the centre of the dash?

The time is on the rev counter to the LHS. The one in the centre of the dash is the trip computer

Isn't that the 2 buttons on the end of the wiper stalk? Trip computer

    Yep.

The button underneath toggles between trip 1 and 2 and if held resets whichever one you are on. Trip 1 auto resets after 2 hrs I think

Check fuse 14 in the fusebox at the drivers door pillar.
