bought a stove a few back, installed it myself with the help of my dad...great heat etc uses alot less fule than an open fire...i used slate as the hearth and managed to get it spot on level :D

we blocked up the ope of the open fire, put a fire rated slab up and filled the joints....the slab has started to scorch behind the stove, its around 3.5" away from the slab. we want to paint the wall now but whats the best way to go about this as we dont want the paint to peel with the heat.....

i said to the missus to use a reflective foil bit at the back but she has insisted on it not been used

has anyone got any suggestions please???

Stop using this device. Get a fire and safety inspector in.
