Hi guys got an email from the student desk essentially asking for 480euro to substitute a module. Does substituting a failed module always cost this? Im a stage two arts student.

Yes, it appears so unfortunately: http://www.ucd.ie/registry/adminservices/fees/fees_registration.htm

It's a ridiculous price to pay if you ask me.

It is so expensive but correct. I substituted a failed module in my final semester but the charge never went onto my account. And I've graduated now so I'm free! I think during the snow last Christmas the administration offices got muddled up and I slipped under the radar.
