Now that Dunmurry Springs are offering three courses on 5 day membership in addition to their own 7 day full membership ......... what is the situation regarding teams, can you play/represent two clubs? can you represent your 5 day club? or are you limited to where you are a full member.

Dtoffee, if you really need this clarified, then I wonder about your mental wellbeing.

I presume you're just bored and want to get some idle talk underway.

If that's the case, the honest answer to your query is that because Dunmurry thought of the idea, they can bend the rules to suit themselves, and everyone just follows.

You have to be a member of the club in question to be eligible to play on their teams in interclub so I guess the question is do you get a type of 'membership' of the additional clubs or is it just playing rights without a formal membership.

People can be (and are) members of more than one club. One club is designated as your home club and they look after your handicapping stuff. You can play for more than one club in inter-club competitions in any year but you couldn't play for more than one club in the same competition.

I enquired about membership in Dunmurry Springs for 2012, sub is 900 with the addition of the 3 courses. Was told it is not a reciprocal membership just free playing rights..i.e a free green fee so cannot play on interclub teams.

not being able to play comp in ur 'guest' club(s) wouldn't bother me
    great initiative
well done to Dunmurry Springs and i just hope other clubs (e.g. Macreddin) take this approach too

the real clincher for Macreddin btw would be if they nailed a club somewhere between themselves and the m50

No you didn't "enquire". Be gone, shill.

I think offering multi-course offers is great idea and the way to go. One can get a bit board of the one course or maybe busy the day you want to play. So the chance to play 3 courses for one fee has to represent great value and variety.
