Monitor brand recommendations

I've been looking around for a new monitor recently but, since I haven't bought a monitor beyond the 19" Hannspree I got to accompany my laptop a few years ago, I have no idea what brands are/aren't worth the money they're expecting me to pay (or where to look to get a good price, for that matter) :P

FWIW, I'm looking for a 22-24" monitor in the region of ~€200 (this is just a low estimate, I hope to be in a position to have a bit more to spend) with a HDMI connection, although I'm assuming that HDMI input is fairly commonplace on monitors nowadays?

I have a BenQ Q2420HD and cant fault it. Has HDMI/Port for headphones, DVI/VGA etc. Very nice display and I've had it a good few months and no dead pixels

I have this Samsung LED 21.5" S22A350 that I got in PC World for €160 in Mahon in Cork, its 1080p and is a great monitor very bright and I have it at around 15% brightness with HDMI and VGA ports. Its a real stylish monitor and I decided to get one of them after seeing them in an internet cafe.
