    Hi,
Went for an NCT today, card failed because the card (01 Honda Stream) had no rear fog light, car has passed the last 2 NCT's and this was never mentioned?
Anyway, does anybody know how much it would cost to get a rear fog light installed?

    Thanks for your help.

    Is it a Japanese import?

If so it shouldn't have failed as it can only fail if it had a foglight originally.

Thats what i taught, its passed twice before, its a jap inport but inspector said since april this year all cars must have a rear fog light fitted?

It should work, when fitted. You need to read through NCT manual to be sure... If it is not originally fitted, Inspector was wrong.

Thanks for this, im going to go back over to them, there was never a rear fog light fitted to the car so from reading the link you sent me, i reckon they are wrong.
'THe rear fog light, where fitted, will be checked'

We have a '94 Mini which originally came with a fog light (fitted seperately below the bumper). I had to replace the rear valance because of rust and didn't bother putting back on the fog light.
Car has just been NCT'ed and not a word about the fog light....although I took the switch out as well just to be sure.

As said already, "fog lights must be checked, when fitted".
This is their own wording and probably relates to the amount of Jap imports that were sold here over the years.

I NCTed a 99 Honda odyssey no fog light fitted and it passed no problem. Seems like you got a jobs worth tester.
