No not any more. A german farmer took EU to court and won case to protect privacy so now only top 10 payments i think are published but with no names. I think the rest may be published but without any identities but not sure on that

    nosey people clearly.....

are you telling me you wouldn't be interested in finding out what a neighbor/family member/work colleague was getting if the information were freely available?

I thought when the information was available the dept website crashed at the start due to the number of hits?

I think this is the crux of the problem with all that's wrong in this country, everyone is pre-occupied with what others are doing and are affraid someone else is getting up another rung on the ladder ahead of them, FFS look to improve what money you need for your self/family and don't worry about who else is getting what. Just because someone is getting €X means nothing to me, they may have more expenses Loans/debts or like to splash their cash. I have never looked at that site because it dosn't interest me.

While your attitude is correct imo (and the most likely to make you successful imo) I suspect you would be in the minority and not just in this country

humans for the most part are social creatures and are always interested in those around them...............sometimes its healthy, sometimes its not..but there is no denying it exists or that there wasn't a lot of interest in that site and that there wouldn't be again should the payments come into the public domain.

Tbh amacca, when the list was on the website i had am much interest in looking at it as i had of getting a tooth filled without an anastethic. Actually the tooth filling would hold way way more interest. It take me all day every day to mind my own business so when people come into my yard spouting about my business i just tell them to shut the gate on the way out:).

I have no problem with someone asking me my business. As soon as they tell me theirs i will give a full breakdown of mine. Its private business (a bit like MEPs expenses apparently, go figure:rolleyes:) and as the court ruled, should remain so and not become a snoops charter. Would you like most of your salary posted on the interweb for all and sundry to see?

actually in a previous job all of it was posted on the internet (still is although I moved jobs a while back)....didnt bother me tbh....as were my SFPs (paltry as they were)when that website was up

but you seem to be under the mistaken impression that I am saying the SFPs amounts and recipients should be made public....I have not advocated that at any stage if thats what you think

I was merely responding to another posters query of "who cares?"......clearly a lot of nosey people do and its only in peoples nature to be curious about what the neighbour is getting up to (down my neck of the woods anyway - you cant move but someone comes sifting for information)...thats all I was saying.

Sorry, my bad. I thought you were advocating the publishing of the info. Apologies:o

Publishing averages etc is beneficial, at least then know you where you stand. Agree though there it's no need for individual payments to be published.
