i'm 18 and i just got my provisional. My ma won't let me go on her insurance so i have to go on me own. Which one would be the cheapest and around how much? Would it be more expensive to insure a 1.4 civic than other cars?

There's no easy answer to cheap insurance, you gotta start ringing around looking for quotes, that's the only way and yeah, the civic will be heavily loaded imo.

It is quite likely to be more expensive for you, at your age with your licence, to insure a 1.4 civic than other 1.4 cars. As civics have a very bad reputation with insurance companies, in particular in the hands of young drivers.

I can't imagine it being anywhere other than the top end of the scale for price compared to alternatives of similar age/type/engine size. Certainly doesn't sound like an ideal proposition for your situation

Have any of you actually insured a Civic? I insured an '02 3dr Civic 1.4 EP when I was 19 and it was about 5% more expensive than the 1.0 Corsa I had previously with Quinn Direct. Cheaper than a VW Golf 1.4 and Corolla 1.4 at the time (2008 ish)

OP, the only way you'll find an answer to your question is by going through the Yellow Pages one by one.

    Good Luck,
    D.

For that car and based on the limited information provided you are probably looking at 2500 to 3000.
