Silent Exception

    Hi,
Just wondering does anyone know of any or method that would allow me to add exceptions to the silent/vibrate/normal settings so that say if I'm waiting on a call from one person but don't want to be disturbed by anyone else I could add them as an exception, or choose to let their notifications vibrate etc.

    Would come in handy!

    Any feedback appreciated

Programs like Locale and Tasker allow it (and a whole lot else). Neither are free though.

Thanks for that, would be looking to get something free if possible as it's not a major request for me, but just something that would be handy :)

TBF you should be buying one of those apps anyway if you're a power user, can't describe how great Tasker is, and locale has also dropped drastically in price so is worth a mention as well. Definitely worth buying as you'll get more use out of them than you realise.

Just had a quick look in the market... maybe this? It has a free ad-supported version, but it might do the job.

Thanks a lot for the replies, Dave, what else does Tasker do? I wouldn't be sure I'd be a power user, I use my phone alot for business, but don't bother with messin around with it too much, just need it to function as a business tool and I like my little tweaks I guess :)

To be honest I paid for tasker a year ago and hardly use it. I set up all these profiles to connect to home or work WiFi depending on my location, disconnect internet automatically at night etc., but it takes mere seconds to do that manually anyway (with widgets) so I stopped using it.

Yeah I don't think I'd use tasker really, have downloaded auto ring, looks like a simple, basic solution to this. Looked at a few others but they seemed over complicated by having to set dates, profiles etc.
