I'm going to fly into Belgium and interail it to the european championship In July 2012. Was gonna stop off in a few cities in Europe the week before. Where are the best cities to visit and party before going to the football tournament ?

I did similar for Italia 90. Amsterdam, Paris, etc. But it sort of backfired as the months travel allowance expired on the day of the QF in Rome.

Actually if you go in July as you say the tournament will be over.
A bit of research needed there.

Yeah , Munich has great beer gardens but it's a bit south. Haven't been to Prague. Suppose it would be ok for a stop off for a night on the way.

Going on the train, visit somewhere that isn't conveniently visited from Ireland. Berlin has several flights a day, easy to visit again. Go to Hamburg, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Heidleburg, Strasbourg or the like.
