I'm a primary teacher, we certainly don't expect presents and know the financial pressure people are under. A nice home-made card with a sincere sentiment is a wonderful gift.
If you feel you must get something,a cake for the staffroom is always welcome!!

A kick in the hole and a warning not to expect anything next year.

Not having to deal with children over Christmas is probably reward enough.

If you love your kid nothing...my parents used to do it and it was to most embarrassing thing ever...I had to hang around until all the other kids were gone home so nobody would see me handing it to them.
