Hi we are hoping to put natural stone on our new build. We have been getting quotes from different companies and looking on donedeal. In some places the price per bag has been double what we were quoted per bag in other places. Is there a reason why in some places it is a lot cheaper. Might sound stupid but the stone looks the same!! thanks

Some suppliers may charge more for supplying dressed stone, although the degree to which it is dressed can vary quite a bit.
Normally about 2.5m per bag so if you calculate total amount needed for job you should be able to haggle rather than just pricing per bag.

Youll pay for quality. Stone is not all the same for sure!. I saw a bag of cut stone once with only half used in the end. As the masons were chipping, the stone was shattering because of bad veining in the stone. My advice would be to talk to your stone mason, one his recommendations for starters.
