Do scumbags know they're scumbags?

I mean, most reasonably sane people can identify what kind of behaviour is antisocial or intimidating to others. Is there not some inner common sense that people have, which allows them to realise when they are being a d1ck or hurting someone else.

I've read the thread about those scummers that beat up that old guy. And the other day I was reading about more scummers in an apartment block that were drinking and being a nuisance to other residents in a common area of their building.

It is a never ending topic. We always have to deal with some little sh!ts over one thing or another. And in many posts I've read that the parents are often unapproachable because they are just as bad.

Is there not some kind of stigma attached to being a scummer? Do they not hear or read stories about disgusting behaviour and then go "that's terrible, what a bunch of scumbags to do that?" and then go "wait a second, if I think that's a sh1tty thing to do, maybe some of the obnoxious sh!t I get up to makes ME a scumbag?"

Of course they do, it's a lifestyle choice at this stage

You're missing the point. Being a scumbag means you don't care what other people think of you being a scumbag!

They do know they're being dicks/hurting people/behaving antisocially. The difference between them and us is that they don't care.

My street is nice. Methodist church opposite; bowling green.. just smack bang in middle of a gurrier wasteland

They are salt of the earth. I am a snob

They would not be scumbags if we had a zero tolerance towards them. I grew up and dressed like a skanger with the uniform of a tracksuit in my teenage years in the early 90's, I was never scummy towards anyone, i was(and am) rather the friendly type ;)

Point being, you choose to be a scum towards fellow human beings or not, the vast majority who grow up in rough areas choose not to be scumlike. Its the minority who exploit society to the benefit of only themselves to the detriment of others who suffer in misery.

But what do they do with there existance on the planet, they must look around and see what people can have with hard work, I know people will say they see things they want and nick it. I just don't understand why they exist they have no role in society they are just a burden. Do they ever just think"maybe I'll get an education get a job and leave this cycle of being lazy sh1ts"

I'm not sure what can be done, but it's dreadfull seeing them in Dubin on the broadwalk, its like seeing the walking dead. I hate them so much

They seem to be very adept at growing bum fluff moustaches for some reason.

I think it might be genetic.

This is the conclusion I seem to come to but it's just hard to believe. Can you really kick someone around the place or destroy someone's property and really not give a toss? It's just hard to believe that so many can detach their consciousness from this kind of behaviour.

They're only acting like that as they love attention and they know they'll get loads of threads about themselves on Boards.

And it's working, they're all delighted at the moment.

Just ignore them and they'll behave.

They're the scum of the earth.

It's one thing having problems in life. But it's another being a little fcuker.
To be honest, we should just sort them out once and for all. We are too easy on them.

    It's a tough situation.

Good question, OP, I used to wonder that myself when I saw my old mates clearly turn into scum before my very eyes and go from people who were reared well in nice, middle class families to getting in fights, selling drugs and pronouncing the word "story" by saying "staaaaaaaaaaaary".

Then after hanging out in some so-called 'scummy' areas for a while, the one thing you get by getting close to these kind of people is that they do this all out of fear. They've grown up seeing the guys with the newest, whitest Nikes with their caps peaked at an exact 90-degree angle get all the respect...while their hard-working families got their houses broken into and were intimidated on a daily basis with little else they could do or say about it.

Imagine that was your life. All day, every single day, for years.

What would you do? Would you continue to work hard, live in a lower class area as a thanks, pray that one day it'll magically get better with no evidence of that in sight and continue to feel scared as you sleep with one eye open every night...almost wishing trouble would find you so you could deal with it rather than dealing with the agonising waiting game? Would you walk with your eyes fixed firmly on your feet praying a punch or bottle didn't hit the back of your head because you wore different clothes to everyone else?

Or would you say "**** it, it doesn't matter if this isn't the person I want to be, because the person I want to be won't matter if I get shot by the end of the week" and dress the same as the rest, become more intimidating than them in the hope that you can get a little peace, then come across some arseholes who want to be more intimidating than you and get caught in a ****storm THAT way?

I'm not justifying scumbags' behaviour here. I get how many on here feel about them. They're intimidating bastards when they're in the mood. But maybe you can take good comfort in knowing that they don't even get the luxury of being the person they want to be, because as far as their world dictates, that's what they need to do to just survive.

'Cause I got high 'cause I got high, jesus in the house jesus in the house' myee kind of generation before the scumbag, chavy, vicky pollard and slapping generation. Yes I am sure scumbags are aware that they are scubags like! The chavs and the jewellery type fellas. They have a certain style and attitude and personality like. Think the scumbag generation is slowly dying out though.

Scumbags see themselves as being 'normal' in society and they see everyone else as being the 'posh' folk

Growing up, they've been hit too much.
