Saving from MS Word Web App Document

    I have a word document which opens in MS Word Web App. It's on my college website when I log in.

    I'm wondering is there any way to open this just as a normal Word document so I can save it onto my PC?

    There is a button which states "Open in Word", but when I click on it it states;
    To open this document your computer must be running a supported version of Microsoft Word and a browser that supports opening files directly from the Office Web Apps.
    Thank you

    Yes. I'm not sure where to locate the version number, but it's quite an old version.

    I was thinking that might be the problem, so I'm currently downloading the free trial of MS Word 2010. It's a big file, so it'll probably be another few minutes.

    I believe at the bare minimum it has to be Office 2007, but Microsoft really didn't flesh out the cloud based thing until the release of 2010. I've been using it quite a bit the last couple months, it's mighty handy.

    Office 2007 lacks the in-program support for opening and saving to the skydrive, whereas thats all available in 2010.
