think the fine is actually over 1500euro. well i assume carlow had already decided to leave the comp by pulling out in protest. the fine seems to be a way of rli pretending to punish them even though they clearly have no authority over them. i doubt carlow will pay the fine to re-enter a competition they cleary view as a shambles and dont wish to participate in. seems strange that they pulled out for no apparent reason or are rli just concealing the reason? why the big grin barrie?

It's a shame it got to the stage where the RLI thought it needed to bring in the RFL.

Just as a matter of interest what authority does either the RLI or RFL have to impose the fine? The clubs are not in receipt of money from the RLI and are just participants in a competition run by a nominal body. Is there a contract signed by clubs saying that they will attend all games scheduled?
