Does anybody know what bike shops or any other shops around Ireland sell electric bikes?

...I'm looking to do some research on sales of them, I don't need one myself quite yet.

There's a shop on Capel Street in Dublin. Don't know what it's called but i've seen them in the window.

There's a shop called green machines in Terenure Village. They've been selling electric bicycles and scooters for about ten years now.

One on Pearse Street, another on Terenure Road East.

You need to differentiate between electric motorbikes and legitimate ped-elecs.

I saw one of these today:

    http://www.ciebike.ie/escooters.html

The rear numberplate panel was an advert for the website, rather than an actual registration number.

Is that legal? I mean, is it really still a bicycle? I think it was one of the ones on the left, which appear to have pedals.

The website says ">45 kms Run Distance...More than 400 Charge Times". Presumably that means it needs an annual battery replacement.

It was going a lot slower than the advertised "25-32km/h Max Speed".

Pedal assist bicycles are legal, anything else may need a licence, tax, insurance, and a reg.

I think that depends on how the pedal assist works, and at which speeds.

The motor must assist along with the rider pedaling (i.e. not motor on it's own) and IIRC 25kmph is the speed at which the motor must cut out/stop assistance

I had one that was throttle only as well as pedal assist and kept assisting up to 30mph. I was never pulled up on it... but it wasnt strictly legal.

some place on the corner of nangor road and park west advertising ebikes. Don't know any more than that I'm afraid. I see the sign and promptly forget to remember the details on it. Every day.
As you can probably tell, I'm a marketeers worst nightmare :)
