Hi, Anyone got any info on running clubs in the Clondalkin area ? As far as I know there used to be a local club but it is no longer in existence. Thanks

Do you drive or do you need somewhere on your doorstop? Lucan Harriers and Cellbridge AC would be near by. Any of the clubs on the southside of the park wouldn't be much further out either - Donore, MSB and Liffey Valley. A quick check of google maps tells me they're all about 10 - 12km from Clondalkin Village.

the Club in Clondalkin was mostly a junior club with some senior members to, the closest club would be Lucan harries or Tallaght, maybesports world if you drive.

You didn't mention which part of Clondalkin you leave in. The two clubs nearest me are:
Lucan Harriers are located close to Superquinn and Tallaght AC (not far from Jacobs factory).

Thanks for the replies. I'm in Clondalkin village. I'm really looking at it for the kids initially (and may get brave myself eventually) so will check times/days etc to see what suits best. Thanks

If it's more about the kids I'd highly recommend Tallaght, I have my daughter and 3 little cousins in it and it's a super setup with great facilities, check out the Irish runner mag page 58/59 and you'll see a write up about it. They train Tue/Thurs at 6:50 and at the weekend. For the adults they have a good bunch of 20 that train at the same time (a kind of beginners program)
Why not come up and check it out you don't have to commit to anything till your sure.

That sounds good. Tuesdays are taken up with swimming but will try it out on a Thursday. Thanks

Sorry - meant to ask also about age groups ? My kids are 10, 7 & 5 -presume the 5 year old is too young for a start but ok for the other two ?

Thanks for that. I'm afraid Tuesdays are already booked up with swimming - it' a club so no options to change. Will try out Tallaght.
