Imported email addresses as well as contacts-want to remove email addresses

Only got my galaxy S2 on Saturday so still trying to find my way around it!Here's my problem-when I go to text a friend,press enter recipient,it brings up all my contacts that I imported from my gmail a/c plus all the email addresses also.I exported them from my old iphone to my gmail a/c and then imported them to the S2......but I dont want the email addresses in my contacts list cos it takes ages to scroll through them all,I only want my contacts!
Hope somebody understands what I'm asking!

Go into contacts, hit menu, display options then tick only contacts with phones

Am running vanilla android, so can't check for definite, but if you hit menu while in contacts, then display options or something like that, and then there should be an option somewhere to only display contacts with phones.

Still not fixed folks!Its fine in Contacts,all my old names and numbers are there.When I hit Messaging,Compose,Enter Recipient it brings up all my contacts but all the email addresses are also mixed in with them(and theres 427 of them cos they're listed as Other Contacts in my gmail a/c).I dont want to wipe them from my gmail a/c but I dont want them mixed in with my contacts on my phone!

Can you move the email addresses in your gmail account to another folder. Then sync your contacts only with your phone?

Edit-tried it,made a new folder called Email Addresses,moved them to it but My Contacts jumped by 427 also!!So it doesn't seem to work,actually quite annoying cos all I want is phone numbers
