    HEY ALL ...

i would really appreciate a bit of help with my altezza.

its cutting out when im stopped in drive and the revs jump up to 2000 when in neutral. it starts up straight away every time and then i need to rev it slighty in N then bang it into drive. sometimes it ticks over but rocks a little and all the problems start when it heats up.

ive changed the cam shaft sensor, map sensor, serviced it, cleand the carb and checked all the coils are workin.
ive had 2 mechanics and a computer diagnostic but no answer and i really dont want to go to lexus.

its a beams 2000 engine '99 altezza AS auto

Have you checked all breather hoses etc? Could be an air leak or possibly clogged breathers.

O2 sensor maybe, or engine temp sensor. Just my guess if you've

checked everything else, no fault codes showed up at all.

Also, Lexus are likely to be little or no help on this car. The Altezza used a 4-cylinder Toyota engine, while the IS200 used a 6-cylinder 2.0 unique to Lexus.

Maybe check the engine speed sensor too. Did the diagnostics check the transmission ecu too? Modern cars tend to have tight links between the engine and transmission controllers on auto models and if there's any breakdown on one, it can affect the other.

Idle speed control valve maybe? Ehh hard to tell though, as this could be a gearbox issue too. No fault codes at all, surely there was something?

to me sound like air/fuel mixing problem. check for air leak , in air delivery pipes, also could be leaking inlet manifold,..... at engine or throttle box side seals.
