Hi, being unemployed, I was lucky enough to get a springboard course for the next 2 years. However, I have a part-time self-employment opportunity coming up. I was wondering if I can get some sort of Back to Work allowance as well? Some schemes state that the job has to be full-time, but this would be only 1-2 days per week. Thanks for reading.

You can't be on two training/education schemes at the same time with SW.

That's a pity, I'll have to see what my options are so. Thanks!

Springboard isn't a scheme per se, its an opportunity for unemployed people to retrain. So technically you are not on BTEA as its a part time course.
Therefore you should contact your job facilitator in your local office, or your local partnership, to talk to them about becoming self employed.
You say its a part time self employment opportunity, what is stopping this from being full time? If it would be possible to go full time, and expand the business, you could have an entitlement to Back to Work.
I don't know for sure if you can definitely get Back to Work while doing a Springboard course, and I cannot find anything in the guidelines on www.welfare.ie about it.
