about 5 months ago, i purchased a lenovo G550, the webcam that comes with the laptop was working great up until last saturday
a messege came up on the screen saying camera failed to open. i tried it again a few hours later, the camera opened but everything was appearing upside down on the screen.
this still sometimes happens when i open the camera, but usally the camera just fails to open
my laptop is no longer detetching the camera on programmes like Skype or Google+
I need to use this laptop to Skype with relatives abroad etc, so i am eager to get it working again

thanks for any help you can give

Did you try to uninstall the device and re-install. Was it plug-and-play? (IE just plug in and works).

What operating system are you running? You could see if its in Device Manager and remove it there too.

ehhh sorry i'm not great with computers. it was Lenovo Easy Capture and the software came with the laptop, it was already installed when I bought it

If I uninstall the program, where will i find it to re install it again?

Oh wait, sorry, this cam is built-in to the screen?

What operating system are you running? I could guide you on how to remove the device and re-download the drivers and install it again.

EDIT: you can download the driver/software from this site (I'd do that first).

Sorry, yeah Windows 7 is your operating system.

Please read these steps fully, understand them and only do them if you feel confident enough. The first thing I'll get you to check is there an updated driver for it.

Right click on Computer and click Properties. On the left you should see a link for Device Manager. When that opens there should be something called "imaging devices". Click on the little plus symbol beside it to expand.

Right click on this and select "Update Driver Software". Windows will search for the device and try to update for you.

the icon for the camera has a little caution sign beside it, when you click on properties for the camera, it says its not able to open

also when i turn on my laptop, a pop out tells me that there is software that isnt recognised
