MDS Ireland Alarms

    Hey all.

Done some reading on here, MDS seemed to be far and away the best bet for car alarm installation, and from reading on alarms, the Clifford G5 650 seems the way to go.

I've spoken to MDS and should be getting it done tomorrow - €650 all in, that includes the flashing window sticker and also Blackjax.

Came across a topic on here though that had two posters saying they'd not use MDS.

Just looking for some good experiences with them, and also any tips for the alarm (I don't think tilt sensors are included, for example, not sure how necessary they are with underground parking, etc)

    Thanks again!

Is that the place near Cherry Orchard Hospital?

If so, I have heard not nice things about them, but this was around 2 years ago, so I dont know if they changed their ways since.

Yes it is! And funnily, you were one of the two people who gave it a bad report in an old topic :)

Can I ask you to PM me with what you've heard please? I don't think saying it publicly is allowed.

PM on route, but just to mention that this was third/forth hand information and I have never dealt with them directly.....

If they haven't been mentioned on boards.ie in a long time they could genuinely be good and it may have been only a few disgruntled customers that tried their best to tell the world!.

I got my Clifford alarm fitted by a different crowd, it cost more and they had the car for 3 days. I actually just took it out of the car this morning and I can see now what I spent the extra money on. Unreal workmanship

Ive used them for clifford alarms on my last 3 cars. Highly recommend them, being honest they're the only ones I'd let near my car.

Had a few issues with my last Clifford, was installed in the UK by the previous owner but the lads in MDS sorted it out.

In both a personal and a business capacity I've never found them great being honest.

I know they browse on here though so I won't say much more!

I got the same alarm as the OP for a lot less...and I've seen cars wired by MDS which'd put me off it a bit tbh.

They installed a clifford alarm to my car not so long ago. I'd recommend them did the job
quick and professionally. Even gave me a car to use while they were installing it.

    Pro's:
They did it in a few hours and the price wasn't outrageous.
Had no hassle with it during the course of owning the car (its since sold)

    Con's:
When i asked about fitting speakers in the back they quoted me a ridiculous price, would have been nice to get the two jobs done at once but ended up getting just the Alarm and speakers at a later date.

The put MDS stickers on my rear windows without my approval, they were gone less than 20 minutes later though so no hassle really.
