iphone 3gs & no service

    I already posted in the o2 forum a few hours ago and they haven't got back to me yet so maybe someone here can help me.

    I have an iphone 3g and for the last 2 and a half hours or so it keeps saying "no service". When I press the power & home reset buttons together it sometimes has 2-3 bars after it starts back up but then as soon as I go to text, call, etc. it drops to one bar for a few seconds then goes back to "No service" so I have no time to use my phone. does anyone know how I can fix it?

    I tried taking out my sim, turning off 3g, reset factory settings, etc. and it wont work. its very frustrating :(
