    i am looking for a webcam to skype the grandparents for my sony laptop running windows. preferbly not a bank breaker

    I got one of these yokes and it does the job just fine for skype. Its not the same seller (I don't remember where I got it, it was a while back) but I'm pretty sure its the same model. Quality isn't fantastic but it was cheap and it works.

    With skype, having a good quality webcam won't do much unless the internet on both ends can handle it anyway.

    if you can find the Xbox 360 webcam your flying.

    its very good quality and has a nice manual focus.

    I got mine a few months back from Argos for €6. it was bundled with a rubbish game called 'you're at the movies ' or something.

    friend got his one the other day for €8 in gamestop second hand but perfect condition.

    IIRC they used to be around €60 and are still better than anything you get in the €20 price range that I've used.

    drivers automatically found by windows update in windows 7, and I've used it with XP without fail too.
