    Dennis Ritchie, the creator of the C programming language, has died. He's not as well known as Steve Jobs, but - in my view - contributed a great deal more to the world of information technology. I have fond memories of learning C by reading through his and Brian Kernighan's book way back in the late 1980s.

    RIP.

    RIP

    I still have a copy of "The C Programming Language" sitting on my bookshelf. I even had the 'pleasure' of working with 'B', it's predecessor (I kid you not!)

    RIP Dennis Ritchie.

    The IT world would have been a very different place today if it was not for C.

    RIP. Don't forget he helped develop Unix as well. Like OB said, not as well known as Jobs but still the work he did shaped the technology world far more than that of the household names.

    #include<stdio.h>

    main()
    {
        printf("Thanks Dennis");
