Just wondering if I put a 455mm 6.03mm barrel in to my toptech m4 shorty I think its a 290mm inner barrel and cover the end with a madbull gemtech silencer 190mm I think, will this work out ok like give me more range, the aeg is shooting 285 290 fps at mo will this increase it by much, I already have a madbul blue hop rubber instaled. I tought id better get opinions first before I go ahead, and any Ideas the best tb to opt for, Thanks in advance.

funny enough i did the same thing with my CA proline m4 CQB
only needed a cylinder and the barrel...
at 290.. i dont think you will need a downgrade but chrono it when you can
i thought when i did it that the barrel would wobble in the silencer.. but it didnt.
if you want to add a spacer or whatever to keep the top of the barrel centred then its another good option
just be careful when swinging it around and slapping the silencer of things, its not good for the barrel

I don't think you'll need a new cylinder - the G&G GR16 use a non-ported cylinder, so I'd guess that the shorty doesn't use one either. However you can tell very easily; just split the receivers and look - if there's a port/hole in the side, a new cylinder would help...but it's not essential. It only becomes essential when you go over the 500mm length, if I remember correctly.

just be aware that the barrel will raise fps and changing the cylinder to a non ported will up the fps, both together from experience could easily push you over the limit

best bet would be to upgrade the barrel and see the results, tbh the barrel is not super long your not going to have any volume issues with the stock cylinder even if it was ported

I noticed that you asked about what's a good brand. Madbull phyton 2 inner barrels are very good quality. Give great accuracy and distance gains. I have one in my M4. They're a bit more expensive than other brands when it comes to aftermarket TBBs, but they are very good quality.
