My 6 week old Dell XPS desktop wont power on.
When I press the power button I hear it trying to start, the power button stays on for about a second, switches off and then tries to start again. It does this untill i hold it in for about ten seconds to force a shutdown.
I tried the usual, unplug from mains, press the button to discharge but no luck.
I am thinking a faulty power switch but before I contact Dell I wonder am I missing something

Have you tried unplugging all usb devices etc except monitor to see if it boots up?

Should be a set of four diagnostic lights on the front or back. I'd google the combination that stays on. They are usually pretty bang on the money.
