What use are business degrees these days?

Everyone slags arts degrees and I suppose some of it is warranted. I'm doing a business degree and I really dont like it I find it to be boring as ****, none of the stuff will help you in a job and I dont like the college either. It probably wont even help much getting a job these days sure nearly everyone has a degree of some sort.

Sure you dont need a business degree to start a business or be a store manager etc. Yes there are some jobs it would be helpful but unless you get something like a 2:1 degree it seems like a waste of time and money.

Im only doing business because I narrowed down what I hated the least. I doubt Im the only one.

    Not a lot of use

OP if you've any interest then going for ACCA will stand to you for a long time
Just an option and good for any area of business, you don't have to work in practice
And your employer would probably pay

Dont really like accountancy tbh, I'm not really too good at it. Seems like a decent area to get qualified in though.

The likes of business studies, business management seem too general now. Sure you would nearly need a 2:1 or 1:1 plus a masters too even stand a tiny chance. Well good luck to that. Its all about who you know these days, I suppose if I stay in college I might make some contacts, thats the only plus point I can think of right now.

This is Sparta After Hours! You won get real advice here, unless you have a piss related atari jaguar query involving your mother.

PS. What harm in doing further study? You can get into masters now with a 2.2 sure ya might as well/

    What use is anything?

Gives you something to talk about in an interview and it gives you 4 years life experience -

Also helpful when it comes to more complex deals where you need to write detailed tender responses

What use was a business degree ever?

Always struck me a the most pointless non de-script qualification ever.

I have a business degree. Worked really hard at it and I have a scholarship to do my masters in Canada next year and a job offer from a guy I never met whose name I can't remember and I don't know what the job is at all.

    /gloats.

Having a good degree opens lots of doors for you. And depending on what subjects you do they really are of benefit for you. I have training on accountancy software and exemptions from lots of professional exams.

A masters in despondency studies with some additional self-pity modules might be a goer?

they don't encourage better/critical thinking , management can be the tedious thing imaginable at times, i say to any LC do arts, greater choice, variety, and then follow into business afterwards if you want
