Loose rails on M4 barrel

    Howdy.

Reasonably new to airsofting and I have a Cybergun M4 CQB. I was messing around with it earlier and noticed the rails around the barrel were off to one side a bit compared to the rails on the main body of the gun. Anyway I tried to straighten them and while doing this I heard a click and they moved back level with the others. Only problem now is they're loose and I can't see how to tighten them/take them off to see what's loose.

    Anyone any ideas?

You remove the RIS kit + front sight with gas tube, and then you just tighten up the delta ring. Then just reassemble and you're sorted :)

Ha just after I posted that I went googling and found a thread here from last year with a similar issue that never seemed to be resolved. The delta ring has a metal bar between one of the teeth, apparently this is the fake gas tube? How do I get that out of the way to tighten it? It looks like it goes into the front sight and that doesn't look like it wants to budge.

Sorry about the stupidity, as I said I'm a noob and not quite sure what I'm doing ha.

    Pull it out!
Make sure the screw on top if the rail is tight too as that can make the front end wobble and be out of line too.

How the Jesus do you pull it out, mine won't come out at all. I'm half afraid to pull too hard in case I break something else ha. The delta ring looks tight though like it doesn't move but the metal piece behind the front sight is loose, what I originally thought to be the problem.

Abridge its not the delta ring. It could be just the rail securing screws up top

To remove the gas tube, you must remove the front sight post. To do that turn the gun upside down, and you should see a small allen head screw in the front sight post - remove this grub screw. Then on the side of the front sight you will see two pins; tap them out. Your front sight (with gas tube) will now slide out.

Remove your RIS/RAS kit, if not already done so (pull back on the delta ring and remove), and you will see the barrel lock part of the delta ring. You need to tighten this part (there are special tools available to do this, but you can do it without them...just not as effectively).

When tightened, you just align your delta ring (two holes, which correspond to a hole in the receiver, for the gas tube) and put the front sight post back on; I always find grub screw first = best.

Just remember that the handguard operates as a lever...it is quite easy for them to loosen the barrel lock, especially over time

Nice one lads I'll have another crack at it when I get home later. I may make a favourite out of this forum I feel I'll have lots of questions :)

    is it the suppressed version?

Nope just the CQB one. I got it all apart eventually and seemed to tighten it up a bit but still loose. I'll have another crack at it tomorrow if I can find my vice-grips and see what happens.

ah alrigth would have been easier if it was the suprpessed version, but good luck then :)
