It seems to this observer that if you want to knock theists then its important to slog up on the usual theist arguments - via Aquinas etc - about the existence of God. So if you happen to have an android phone you can read all the arguments in a free full ebook, available by searching for these words in the market: Proofs of God's Existence . Happy reading, and scoffing no doubt!

It seems to this observer that this is a forum where we debate things and not just a place to advertise stuff.

I'm betting you have a differently worded thread for the same product in the other forum.

Damn I lost. No thread in the other forum.

Aquinas's arguments aren't that much different from the usual half baked ones we hear here.
His are just a bit more flowery and use more ye olde English.
But still based on the same flaws in logic and sense.

It's not about "knocking theists", I think: knocking a belief is not knocking the person. Or shouldn't be, except that some theists identify so strongly with their beliefs that they can't tell the difference. You can hold back for fear of offending the person ... or you can try to make that clear when talking to them. People inherently deserve respect, beliefs do not - and if they conflate the two, that's their problem, not yours.

I didn't realise, I'm suppose to have any enemies just because I don't believe in a god.

No more than any evangelist, i think. Nothing in it for him, since all these old texts are public domain, available as free e-books. I just don't think he realises just how old and long-debunked those arguments are. As if no atheists ever read Aquinas? Dawkins looks at them in The God Delusion, and even that part was more literature review than original research. Been there, done that. I think I'm long past the stage at which mere words could convince me of anything.

But this is a new book, and its available for free there. How many people here have read Aquinas then, can I ask? Or read any book of theology? Just wondering.....
