A decent field assembled for this one. Harrington admitting he needs a big performance to gain a place in the WGC HSBC Champions event.
I think this is the last chance for me

I'm aware of it, it's a good golf course and I like the HSBC event out there - it's an event I look forward to.

You don't expect not to be in them if you know what I mean. I would be aware of that this week.

    Tee Times

    Betting

I'm going with past winner Alvaro Quiros to take the honors @ 30/1 with Bet365.

Francesco Molinari's scores from last year...

    74-62-74-62

Garrido was Top 10 here last year and has been ok lately, a couple of quid e/w for me at 100/1.

I like the Quiros bet though, Rob Lee tipped him as well (for what thats worth)

Gone with Aiken @ 33/1 this week.

Played very well this season. Handful of top 10's this year including another last week. Won the event in Barcelona earlier in the season on a course quite similar to this week in that it'll suit attacking golf. Lot of birdies to be made and he does just that.

Fine start from Maybin, -7 and one off the lead. Harrington 3 back at -5.
Looking like it will be another low scoring week.

Have Aiken as well at 33's and 28's after yesterdays round.

Got off to a very slow start but a great finish. nicely placed if no one goes much further than the current -13

Double on 14 (which he birdied yesterday) hurts alot :(

After a fantastic pitch in birdie on 13, he's now proceeding to make a balls of the last few holes. He'll do well to make the cut now.

Edit: Scratch that, great recovery on 18

Harringtone -2 after 5. But the course looks like it's giving up plenty of shots as the leader is Hennie Otto -8 thru 12  Some scoring ...

It was the 6 bogeys and 2 doubles what done it.

Shocking stuff when you see the numbers around the leaderboard. 19 shots worse then the current best round of the day.

Impossible to follow him  72 yesterday was hard enough to take but maybe more understandable because any mistake could have meant a missed cut.
But +10 today ffs. Saturday is moving day but not in the right direction for Gary.

Murphy = ... Bit pished now but something thats been on my mind, Harrington, not going too bad this week but after watching some of the coverage they have been mentioning how this course suits "bombers" .. aka dose not punish bad drives .. How much of this performance is down to the course being easy? Obviously still plenty of questions to be asked, but dose an event like this even answer any ..? :p

Just tuned in there to see Harrington miss a 3 foot birdie putt on 17 with no break. That's his top 10 gone.

Good round again from Peter Lawrie to consolidate his position in the top 60 on the R2D. Lowry on -15 along with Harrington.

Peter Hanson would have to be favourite from here.

Nah, I'd say Tom Lewis is with his 3 shot lead and all ;)

Ha, he fairly blitzed those closing few holes. I think they said only his 4th ever pro start and he has secured his card and a big pay day. Good on him.
