    Seriously,

This cliched, false, approach to advertising might turn me off donating to them again, which i have done in their shops for quite some time.

    Anyone else feel the same?

The word 'celebrity' is thrown around much too easily...

Sharon Corr and Miriam O'Callaghan don't fit the bill there?

Has anyone else been subjected to that compulsory Unicef 5-minute ad on Aer Lingus flights? Ryan Tubridy is the most annoying thing about it.

I donate monthly to Oxfam, and I give regularly to charity shops. Obviously that's the very least I could be doing to help, but I'm just saying it to point out the fact that even people who do donate can be p**sed off by these "celebrity" charity ads. All they do is make me dislike the "celebrities" even more. Especially Ryan Tubridy.

But if it helps increase donations, then it's a good thing. It would never put me off donating, it just puts me off the "celebrities." I'm not even totally sure why.

Not even quite sure what my point is, really.

I guess the main point to take away from my rant is that I hate Ryan Tubridy.

In conclusion some people dislike other people.

I wouldn't let it put me off donating to Oxfam. It's a brilliant charity and its not like the 'celebrities' are the ones benefiting from the donation.

They do great work, thats all that counts to me.

Clebrity highlighting charitys has been around for decades and if it makes people sit up and take notice than all well and good ,that's one good example of fame been used for the greater good ( although personaly there are only a few who might make sit up and take notce )

Donating to charitys, like the majority of people , is one thing I do with either door collections or I will drop off a few bags to my local shop ( which is not Oxfam ) but what I object to is the price tags on many Items in the Oxfam shops compared to others which considering they are second or third hand items ie , clothes ,shoes , bric a brac recieved for free , it's a bit OTT to be selling them back at much higher prices than first bought in the high street stores . I mean if people wan't to buy a second hand frayed shirt for between £5 and £7 then ok but then you read about some charity boss in England living in a mansions that cost a £1 ... well you do have to ask ..who is conning who ?

Who are the 'wealthy celebrities' doing it? Tom Dunne hardly qualifies does he?

I listen to Newstalk and like him on that but he annoys me if I can see him talking, it's the weirdest thing.

I find it strange that Paddy Power sponsors the GOAL tv ads.

I'd advise you to not watch the Lord of The Rings films either then.
