thanks, but looking for jive swing. Instruments we'd like are double bass, fiddle, banjo, trumpet...

dunno about the instrumentation you mentioned but The Roaring 40s are an excellent swing band. based in cork i think. played at my friend's wedding a few years ago and went down a storm. top musicians all of them, great show.

    Thanks Mistermogue,

Have checked them out, they are good. gonna persevere with those instruments tho.

Ah, "swing dancing" as opposed to "swing music", two very different animals -- as my swing band discovered in the past!

    Hi there,

We're the Swingin' Bluecats, a 6 piece (Double Bass/Drums/Guitar/Baritone Sax/Tenor Sax/Trumpet) Jump/Jive/Swing band playing classics from the 1940's to present (but always in the "Swing" style). I'd send you more info and some pics if I knew how. In the meantime, you could simply Google us or check out our outdated website at www.swinginbluecats.com. All the best for now!
