Secondhand Vespa

Hi all!Looking for a decent, hopefully 250, Vespa. Looked online and can't see any for sale. Does anyone know where I could get a good condition secondhand one? One to three years old....Thanks in advance...

Hi there, these can be fairly hard to find. I was looking for something similar a few years ago. I tried looking on a few UK scooter/motorcycle websites (e.g. http://www.scootertrader.com/ & http://www.autotrader.co.uk/bikes) & there were a few bargains to be had, but then you have to get over to England, get it back, pay VRT etc. Have a look around, some do come up for sale in Northern Ireland from time to time. I also tried Scooter Services in Belfast but they didn't have any 2nd-hand at the time.

As you probaby know, Bike World on the Longmile Road are the Republic of Ireland's only official Vespa dealer. However they tend to buy one particular model & colour in bulk. Right enough, when I enquired about buying a new Black or Red GTs250ie, they could only offer me a new Grey Gtv250ie (i.e. with the headlight on the mudguard) which was not what I wanted at all. They wouldn't order in specific colours or models.

Anyhow, by pure chance they did have a 1-year old black GTs250ie in stock. It was, IMO, totally over-priced & had had a fall, but in the end I managed to barter the price down a bit, so I went for it. I haven't regretted it- I must say that their after-sales service has been superb.

OP if you're going for that Vespa check that it comes with the windscreen as they're quite expensive to buy, it's in pic 7 but not in any of the other pics.

I've only been on now :-o I'm going to ring up right away and see if they still have it...its gorgeous! thanks for all the advice...
