    Why do you want one?
I used one for a week when I was younger. It was shite.
No need for them at all imo. Once it's adequate around the head it's safe the rest will only annoy you.

Work arent happy with me coming in with black eyes/ bruising and having to meet suppliers and customers so I have no option but to get a full face.

Best headgear you can buy without going full guard with a nosebar.

Expensive but you really can't put a price on having good head protection.

You wont be allowed to wear it when fighting, only for sparring. Are you getting marked from sparring?
I find most of those head guards block your peripheral vision. If I had to buy one, i'd try on a load of full face ones and see which one gives me the best view, otherwise you'll be taking shots you don't need to be taking

Yes I know I'll only be able to use for sparring, but sparring 3 times a week = black eyes.

If there was somewhere that held a large stock of full-face I'd definatly try them all on and see which fits best, but is there anywhere that has a decent selection?
Any shops I've been in have had fek all head guards, let alone full face ones.

    I got this one http://www.ringsportireland.com/product_catalogue.php?sec=12&cat=517&product=23879

Haven't used it yet, fits grand fairly adjustable. I use to get bloody noses all the time and a broken nose only 9 weeks ago or so and it's still obviously not 100% using this just seems like common sense for sparring you see pac and odlh using them so.....

I am in a similar situation to the OP, in that I can't get marked up for work reasons. Has the original poster any feedback on the headgear he bought? I am looking at the Lonsdale Full Face.

i got one of these that i used for a couple of months when i had surgery on my nose...one of this style, wasn't this brand....got from american and cost 300 dollars so was expensive

it totally blocks everything but it's heavier than a normal guard....

i find the paffen headgaurd the best standard one....i hate the top 10 one

Cheers, tmb. When I see pictures of headgear like that, the first question the comes into my head is that surely some shots can get through the "face space". This isn't the case?

This one is fairly cheap by comparison. Did delivery from the US take long?

no shots get through the gap.....especially 14 oz sparring gloves.....the gap is too small

from memory it took a few weeks to come....it was really good leather.....the main negative was it was a good bit heavier but you get used to it .....its the one professional usually use when sparring.....your face wont be marked at all

Thanks, cowzerp. How is that style of headgear with regard to nose protection, as it is the nose I am primarily worried about (I've broke it quite a few times and it is a bit delicate as a result).

Your nose can still be hit, there is a link above of same site with the nose bar on it, some of my lads have headguards like that and they help-thats what you need if your nose is prone to bleeding or breaking.

The 1 i posted up is great for stopping cut's, Black eyes etc..

Cool, thanks. This is the one I have my eye on. http://www.ringsportireland.com/product_catalogue.php?sec=12&cat=517&product=535 If anyone could give some feedback on sizing, that would be great. I'm 5' 10" 12 stone with an average sized head (I think), presume medium would do the trick?

If you have an average size head i'd go with medium alright-that 1 looks good for you and worth getting.
