Diamond League 2012 - Which to go to?

    I was meant to go to the Rome Diamond League meeting this year but finances, or lack of, got in the way and I had to cancel the plans. So I'm thinking about going to one of the events next year but I'm trying to decide which one.

    I'd like one that has the longer distances, like 5000m and 10,000m. I know the Brussells event at the 10,000m this year.

    It's too soon to know who will be at which event but I was wondering if anyone here has been to them and which one's would they suggest going to? Any within Europe would be grand.

    Most are in Europe. 10 of the 14. 2 Are in the USA, 1 in China and then 1 in that country that is buying itself a load of sporting events!!!

    It's a no-brainer really, go to Crystal Palace. It's a 2 day meet. Why travel somewhere for 1 day when you can go for 2.

    I've been to Brussels twice ('03 & '08), Paris once ('04) and Crystal Palace once (this year). Brussels was the best of them but paris wasnt far behind. Crystal Palace was pretty good on the Friday, only ok on the Saturday. It's worth going to cause its local for me but as a foreign trip i'm not sure. But yeah if your going to CP one day you have to go the 2nd day.

    Quality wise Brussels and Zurich are the best 2. As a city Brussels is fairly ordinary, can't comment on Zurich but it doesnt seem the easiest of places to get to.

    In 2012 i'll be going to birmingham, crystal palace and hopefully Zurich.

    Made some friends from Zurich on my travels around Western Australia this year. They seem to think it's a very nice place (or maybe they are biased). But from what I've heard Switzerland is a beautiful country, and with the Euros there in 2014, aswell as the Weltklasse, and the fact I know local people there who I could crash with, I'm thinking in the future there could be a fair few trips to Zurich in the pipeline. :)

    Its looks class in photo's i've seen. World's best train system too from what i've heard. Its 30th Aug next year, try and time your holiday to take in that and the olympics.

    Nice, keep the contact and friendship going. Then we'll all crash with them in 2014 :p
