    Hi Guys
Just a quick question, On 1st October i went to see Batman in the O2, I was "guided" to park my car on the footway of northwall quay.
Looked all official with guys in high viz o2 vest, paid a fiver and left the car.

Today i got a letter from the Garda in ref to this parking and an investigation into "Making gain or causing loss by deception"

Did anyone else get a letter with ref to parking at this event or others?

the Garda is ********** Store Street.

(Mods, please remove the Garda name re is needs be)

    Cheers
    Brookie

That looks to me like a chancer got a yellow jacket and set himself up as a parking attendant.

He effectively charged you for guiding you into a public spot.

The cops must have pulled him and are trying to get the evidence to do him for deception.

I think this is fair enough. The cop needs your help to stop him. You say you parked on the "footway".

Thats either public parking - where you should not be paying him, or on the path which the cop would be doing you for.

Could be wrong though, but I have seen them at it when I go to the O2

There's an official o2 car park that you pay for when buying a ticket so I assume those that run the o2 are trying to get unofficial car parks in the area shut down and the gardai are looking for evidence to assist in this.
