I am thinking of taking a transfer in work which means I'll be travelling from drogheda to rush daily. I've looked at the trains but the station seems very far away from the shop. it's on whitestown road/park road.
does any one know if there's a bus that services this route? Im on my phone so can't look at timetable files. just need to know if i can get to work before i take the job!! Thanks

The 33 and 33a connect Rush Station with Rush town.

Best way to check is probably to use the Real Time Passenger Information facility on the Dublin Bus website for the bus stop at Rush Station around the time your train would be arriving. That will give you an idea of when the buses will arrive.

Go to www.dublinbus.ie and enter bus stop number 3769 for Rush Railway Station and stop 3838 for the return journey from Rush Town.

The bus should take 5-10 minutes or so to do the trip between the two points.

Perhaps leave a cheap bike at Rush & Lusk station?

Or Bus Éireann route 101 to Balbriggan and then Dublin Bus route 33? http://maps.google.ie/maps?saddr=Dublin+St&daddr=Dublin+St&hl=en&ll=53.6045,-6.184058&spn=0.008709,0.01929&sll=53.6045,-6.184058&sspn=0.002177,0.004823&geocode=FSf7MQMdnKWh_w%3BFVbwMQMdO6Kh_w&vpsrc=6&dirflg=w&mra=dme&mrsp=1&sz=18&t=m&z=16 Alternatively, I wonder if route 101 has a stop between Blakes Cross and Swords on the R132.

Another option would be to check what times the trains and buses make a connection at Skerries (Bus Stop No. 3567* Town Parks Road, at Selsker Road or Bus Stop No. 7292** Thomas Hand Street, At the football pitches), although it isn't a great connection - there is no real connection at Balbriggan.***

Thanks. i looked into the bus and based on that I've decided to go for the transfer. getting a bike and leaving it in rush is also a good idea. the store is the far end of Whitestown Rd so all failing i will invest in a good pair of walking boots!
I plan on saving my ass off after xmas and getting myself a car on the road too!!

Off peak only. Folding bikes can be carried any time, but it is preferred if they are folded and covered.

The road from the station to Rush is fairly narrow, with a few turns and hills giving poor visibility, probably not the best for a novice cyclist, if you're prepared to be a bit bolshie in the narrow bits and hold the road and let traffic by in the wider sections it's not the worst.

Is there footpaths on this road? I would happily walk it either

There is a footpath but no streetlights.

As I said before - check out the Dublin Bus RTPI timings for when you plan on arriving and leaving and that will tell you when the 33 or 33a will arrive.

I've printed off time tables etc today and plan on using it :)
Just planning ahead for the bad weather!

Bear in mind that the timetables only show the city departure times for the 33 - you will really need to use the RTPI to check what time they get to Rush Station.

What I'm suggesting is that you log onto www.dublinbus.ie/RTPI either today or tomorrow at about the time you're planning to arrive at Rush station by train when you do start making that trip and check what time a bus will appear at stop 3769.

    Similarly for the reverse trip.

The buses can be very unpredictable from the station.could be waiting longer than half an hour for a bus.but hopefully there be people from the lusk direction that could give you a lift from there.a bike would probably be best idea for the start cause them buses are a disaster

    Thanks everyone :)

Doubt I'll be taking the transfer though as it's looking like they won't be able to offer me the contract I want :(

Ye thats still goin to leave ya at the bus stop for that half hour.she wont be able to time the train to the bus using that as the bus could get held up quite abit by the time she reaches rush train station.its just hopeing for the best really

i use the RTPI by the way and its very gd but it cant predict traffic half hour in advance that will delay your bus or even if its quicker than expected

Why are they only offering 20 hour contracts is it just to create more jobs

I've no idea. There will be higher contracts available in the future I think. Team leader positions are available in January so people can apply within for them. And there will be more hours over Xmas too.
I need a higher contract than what i'm on to make up for paying for travel though. I'll try have a word tomorrow but if not it's back to the drawing board :(

You could get 2 buses instead of train.bus to balbriggan and a 33 to rush would take a half hour.probly be cheaper.
just wondering is there a difference in pay for team leaders.im currently in a job but did my interview for tesco so if i get offered a position i would just like to know this sort of info before i leave my current job
