I recently bought a suit quite similiar to this one:

My graduation is coming up Tuesday week and I need some ideas on shirt/tie combinations. What colours would go best with this suit?

Navy tie and white shirt or maybe a light blue shirt

Black shirt usually goes well with a grey suit. I'm not sure what colour tie though...maybe black also?

Cheers for the suggestions! I was actually thinking about a white shirt/dark blue tie. Anyone else got any ideas/suggestions (or even links to pics)?

Also in the link I posted of the suit there is a pocket square in the breast pocket of the jacket. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get one just like that. I was looking on the Next website but I couldnt find them sold seperately. Cheers if anyone can help!

White shirt + black/red/navy tie, or black shirt for a more evening look.

Next have told me that they don't sell Pocket Squares seperately. Really would like to get one similiar to the one in the link, anyone able to help? Where could I get one?

I can't see the link properly on my mobile but if it's a plain white one then M&S sell a pack of eight cotton squares for about twelve euro. Other menswear places such as T.M. Lewin and several in Arnotts sell more expensive silk ones.

My boyfriend has a grey suit and it looks amazing with a light pink silk tie and shirt that is a lighter shade of grey/silver. If you're daring enough to wear pink, it goes really well with grey.

Pink and grey are excellent together. Dont wear a black shirt with a suit, it screams Chav

To be fair, I don't know anyone in Ireland who uses the word chav. We're not from Essex.

My vote would be for white shirt with that colour. It's very 60s, think Connery in Bond, or Mad Men. Then the tie can be anything dark, navy, black etc. I think a thin tie because of the single breasted style of the suit. I'd avoid black shirts if it's a daytime thing.

Only if accompanied by a brightly coloured tie, otherwise it's fine.

can't agree. Black shirts in a suit a No no for me.

It only screams chav, if the person wearing it is a chav. It actually looks quite well together.

I would go for a white shirt in this case seeing as it's your graduation, depending on your mood, maybe a dark blue tie or a light pink tie?
