Sky HD box sound prob

Got my Sky HD box connected up to a Toshiba TV which I know has not got the best sound but have also got a TechniSat HDFS Freesat box connected to the same TV and the sound is so much louder and crisper on all channels!! Is there a prob with my Sky box or is this a Sky prob in general, its really bad on Comedy Central, went through all the channels but they all seem more or less the same, ie really weak on volume! Any advice on this welcome, the HD box is secondhand but from a good Sat shop here in Dublin, could its age be a prob? Bought it 6 months ago but no idea how long it was running before that Last point both are connected via a HDMI cable. Thanks guys

sky HD boxes output their volume significantly lower than other stb's.
There's no way of adjusting it unfortunately.

Thanks for that but just to add fuel to the fire! I have a feed from the same box down to the kitchen to a Samsung TV and the sound is grand????

I know it makes no sense but as I am in my 60`s and the hearing is failing I asked my daughters opion and she admits the volume differs on the Tosh upstairs to the Samsung in the kitchen from the same HD box!! If you guys can solve this you can knit fog!! as they say.

U should check the sound settings directly on the tv and make sure they are set rite and set to stereo sound I often install Toshiba tvs and have personally never found much of a problem with the sound.
