    Hello all.....

I'm just wondering would anyone have any idea how much it would cost to get your teeth cleaned and or whitened in Galway? Or just in general for that matter :pac:

    Thanks.

cost me 70 euro to go to the hygienist and get my teeth scraped and cleaned.. and then it cost me 300 euro to get a take home whitening kit,it consisted of moulds for my mouth and 2 tubes of gel..

none of this is covered by a medical card so youll have to fork out all of it yourself

usually hygienists will be between 50 and 90 euro for a 30min to 1 hour session..

and the whitening is usually around 250 - 450 euro depending where you go and if you get gels or lazer, gels seem to be the best as they stay whiter longer then a lazer job.

so they don't actually do anything when it comes to the whitening? They just sell the kit
also, have you any idea how long it lasts? Like how often would you need to buy one of the kits.....every 2/3 years?

some dentists will do the whitening in their surgery, they will give u a lazer treatment, takes about 30 - 45 mins to do and then your done, apparently the gels will get your teeth more shades whiter then the lazer will though..

youll see places offering lazer whitening for 100 euro or 150 euro, your just throwing your money away, most times these cheap jobs will only get your teeth 1 or 2 shades brighter and some people i know said they didnt even notice any difference,so if u do go for lazer make sure you get a good one from a dentists, any barbershops or beauty shops or other places offering whitening your beter off staying away from..

The gel kits im doin at the moment,i done 3 weeks, every night u put some gel into the moulds and go to sleep,in the morning you take them out.i still have some gel left,,you keep the gel in the fridge, they last for 2 years..ill do 4 or 5 nights of my remaining gel in april or may just to top up and try get whiter then i am now..

the moulds will last you forever if you take care of them and the gels you can buy a refill tube of the gel if you need it for around 25 to 75 euro depending who u buy it from and what type you get

if you need to buy replacement moulds they cost anything up to 100 euro as they are specially made to fit your teeth.

depends how much coffee / tea / coke you drink, how often you eat curries and other stain type foods, but apparently it will last you a few years before you need to top up again, you could get up to 5 years or more before you would want to whiten again
