Have you ever witnessed a complete tag along in your group of friends on a night out? Like someone who just about knows one person in our group and comes along for the ride, sorta like a non requested locum member of your group. Who are these people kidding?

Are you afraid of meeting new people?

Personally I don't see a problem with it, the more the merrier.

OP when you're out does this song go through your head constantly?

That went well for you OP.

Have you ever gone for a few pints with a mate who turns out to be meeting other friends of theirs? I find most of them are really sound and welcome you along, but there's always one tosser who treats you like a "tagalong". The great thing is, you and your new friends all take the píss out of him and bond over the mutual hatred. Good times ensue.

I refuse to talk to them directly and purposely do not look at them, when they talk I walk away or cover my ears.

That went well for you OP.

    It went swimmingly I thought.

Something tells me the OP is having a moment to self-reflect.

I think this would be much easier explained as...

"Don't you just hate when a friend of a friend scores that girl from your group you fancy"

Not alone does he do it, but he does it after some poor sap has spent weeks working up to asking her to the cinema, just by looking at her once and lobbing the gob. Like them feckers who turn up 20 seconds before the arrival of a bus you've waited on for an hour. In the rain.

Went out on Thursday night with a group and we had a tag along. He spoke to me five times over the course of the night asking me the same question each time "Where's [matesname]?" Odd bloke. Yer man didn't drink either.

Don't spoil it with your realism, if it wasn't for silly posts to answer with something even sillier, I'd have nothing to do some evenings. More silly trolls please.

he was probably a little bit shy and tried to start a conversation with you but at the same time looking for his friend so he could be a little more comfortable.Doesn't sound that odd to me..

Somewhere that dude is saying "met this odd, rude sort on Thurs - 5 times I asked where my mate was, not once did I get an answer".

He probably thought you were a nice looking girl (I suppose he might well be odd), was very nervous, and was trying to start a conversation with you.

You remind me of people who consider non locals "blow ins" and have a strict policy of keeping your circle of friends to about five, that way you dont have to improve your social skills!

He's deffo a tag along. He wasn't even invited out or said he was going the same place. He just asked where my mate where he was going and then said alright have a good night. Then conveniently bumped into him at the club later on with his mate who can't speak English :D

He follows my mate to lectures and everything then sits on his own close by. Plus you should see his university room - it's full of surveillance equipment, a candle lit tribute to the mate in question in the corner of his room with a prayer mat in front of it as well as lots of used tissues and poetry. I may or may not have made the last bit up
