This week’s SmackDown is shaping up to be a huge show – including the “Largest Battle Royal in WWE History” (41 Superstars from both brands) and two PPV-caliber title matches. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio will defend against John Cena and World Heavyweight champion Mark Henry will defend against Randy Orton.
In addition to all that, WWE has been advertising a special DX reunion between Triple H and Texas native Shawn Michaels.
Aside from John Cena and Alberto Del Rio, other RAW Superstars advertised for tonight CM Punk, WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom.

I hope they don't start it with 41 in the ring it'd be a real sight like that dreadful diva battle royal at mania a few years back people getting eliminated before you knew they were in there. Hope Smackdown is better than Raw, it usually is & it wouldn't be hard this week.

hopefully it will be a number 1 contenders match for the Intercontinental Title, try make it mean something again.

I'd say Raw would have to be recorded then too, would be a bit retarded to have a live Raw show AFTER Smackdown has been recorded.

Spoilers and results:

Prior to the start of tonight's Smackdown taping, Triple H and Shawn Michaels made an off-camera appearance as DeGeneration X. They cut a non-PG promo and teased Wrestlemania for Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Vince McMahon came out and interrupted the tremendous pop.

Show Starts:

* John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long come out to open the show. To celebrate Smackdown being the second longest running episodic TV show ever, they're doing a 41-man battle royal with the winner getting a title shot of their choice.

* 41-man Battle Royal. Eliminations: Cody Rhodes, Derrick Bateman, Michael McGillicutty, Matt Striker, William Regal, Percy Watson, Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison, Trent Baretta, Ted DiBiase, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Drew McIntyre, Justin Gabriel, Mason Ryan, Primo, Santino Marella, Alex Riley, Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder, David Otunga, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Sin Cara (black), The Uso's, Christin, R-Truth, CM Punk, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Jack Swagger, Jinder Mahal.

The final two are The Miz and Randy Orton. Orton hit an RKO on The Miz outside the ropes and both fell out. Miz hit the ground first so Orton won the match. Missing from the match - John Cena and Sin Cara (blue). Daniel Bryan was in the match but we missed his elimination.

Orton chooses to face Mark Henry tonight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

* They air a video promoting John Cena vs. The Rock at Wrestlemania XXVIII.

* Backstage, Teddy Long tells Alberto Del Rio will face Sheamus tonight.

* WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix b. Kelly Kelly in a very short non-title match.

* Sin Cara (black) attacks Sin Cara (blue) on the way to the ring. He takes his mask and puts it on to face Justin Gabriel. He ends up beating Gabriel.

* They tape a backstage segment with Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.

* WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio beats Sheamus after Christian interferes. Christians spears Sheamus twice after the match.

* Kofi Kingston & Zack Ryder b. WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger w/Vickie Guerrero

* World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton ends in disqualification when WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes hits the ring. Big Show comes out to make the save. Show chokeslams Henry (kind of) and Orton gives Rhodes the RKO.

That seems to be everything.

Given the end of the match on Raw, I'd imagine they'll be running an injury angle. If so, we'll have to rely on commentary to see what direction its going in.

When I read Orton won that battle royal, I almost thought he was going to go for the IC title, which would be kinda odd, but would make sense for that as a feud.

Really liking the Sheamus and Christian feud and Sheamus looked very well in the Battle Royal btw where was Cena?

Also would have preferred to see Orton challenge Del Rio for his title or have someone else win the Battle Royal

I loved how the storyline has spilled on over to ZTLIS. Great way to utilize Zack's show!
