Well there's two tracks in limerick one is an indoor one it's pretty new in ballysimon on the edge of the city and people seem to like it, it's just a "turn up with a few people, hop in a kart have a laugh and go home type of place" as is the other one out in Kilcornan between askeaton and kildimo co. limerick. That's a bit on the old side but i've often had a bit of craic out there. I don't know about any "serious" stuff though like getting into racing them or anything.

well id like to find an outdoor track with some proper karts, just to get started with it, id love to actually get into kart racing but the money would be too tight for it at the moment, heard there is a nice track in cork?

Kartworld in Watergrasshill is probably where you're thinking of. The track there is good, although the karts are nothing special. In saying that they're more than fast enough to have some fun in.

Been there twice now I think it's near enough to Douglas, I think but still epic fun was had there but it was pricey enough though.:)

If you get a group it's not too bad. It's a better standard than most though. If you just roll up to drive you'll pay through the nose.

I don't know if theres any clubs for just dossing around/casual racing. Watergrasshill (AKA Kartworld) is the one in Cork you probably heard about.

Many places have open race nights and or open leagues, thats a good way to see if its something you might like to persue further.
Actual racing karts are quite a bit different to what the general public can rent at a typical track. They are lighter, a lot more powerful and dont hang about. You can find out more about that kind of karting at www.irishkarting.com, www.kartireland.com & www.motorsportireland.com

    Watergrasshill is worth the trip.
I believe Kilcornan in Limerick has good hire karts (used to have racing karts there back in the day)
Athboy is a great track, they have hire karts as well as their own series for racing karts.
Kart City in Santry is open again. They have rentals, dont know if they let racing karts run there anymore.
Pallas Karting In Tynagh (near portumna) is a great track.
Athboy in meath has racing, not sure about rentals.
I've heard great things about Whiteriver park.

hey guys, finally got around to doing some proper karting while i was in lanzarote

Was it the place in San Bartolome, up in the mountains? I was there a few weeks ago myself, loved it too. The track there is class. I'm bitten by a bug now...all I want to do is race karts.

yup that was the place, some track it was and the people where brilliant, i went with one buddy with the intention of doing like a hour tops :D i kept the whole place open for like 2-3 hours some craic, really going to look into doing some nice karting here now, its just a pity no place does like an introduction to kart racing day or something along those lines

Kartworld\Watergrasshill just posted on their facebook page about a league they are running.
    Give them a call.

Kartworld is about as good as you get to be fair, beem there 4 or 5 times. That Place in Lanzarote is seriously well laid out and I can see why someone could get the bug easily enough. I've heard that there is an indoor kart place after opening a few months ago in Little Island I think - haven't been though.
