    I imagine it's fairly high, don't know about 70% though.

    The figure is correct for a certain time period each week in the UK, not necessarily ireland

    I would conjecture it is about 15 to 20% which is still quite high.

    Since this thread rests on that "70% of admission to a&e in Ireland are alcohol related" and there isn't a source I'll close it.
    However if you do find a source to back this up, PM me and I'll reopen.

    NB, it's actually true for UK - 70% admittance in A&E for NHS in UK during peak hours of midnight to 5am is alcohol related, but that's over there.
