    Tax Credits
    wondering wud anyone know i was registered as self employed since jan 10 but it never took off i cancelled the self employed status with the revenue this wk anyone know if my wife is due tax back

    Your status as self employed or otherwise is not relevant.

    The relevant question is whether your wife applied your married couple tax credit to her employment. If she did, then her tax will have been calculated properly and she won't be due any back. If she only applied her own PAYE credit to her employment, and earned over 8,000 Euro then she is likely due some tax back, depending of course on how much you earned from any self-employment.

    no now since i told them i never got going as self employed they have readjusted her tax credits and she would have earned more than 8000
