Got a car 3 weeks ago, sign the logbook, and send to shanon.... road tax ended this year september, so i were expecting in nearest days go to motor tax office, and get it done..... as i am new owner....

And part surprise .... today got renewal form from roadtax office. !!!!! i am new owner, and they worked out very quick, that my tax is out ... wow... no need to go to office, and waist my time :)

usually new owner of car need to get tax in office, and then get these online payment options, in my case... seems to be somebody start do they job :)

Makes sense to me! First taxing of a second hand car had to be done at the motor tax office previously. From then on you would get a pin to do it online. The system has now been improved so that you get a pin straight off, no queueing at the office.

Yup. It would be lovely if online system would work properly.

Got my pin, entered details, payed for tax. Waited for 2 weeks and no sign of fecking thing.

So then I had to go to Garda and get form for losing my tax disc ( irony ), then drive 40km to cork and stand in line to get what I payed for online! Sweet!

It happened 3 times so far between 3 cars now...

Never had an issue with it (used it 10 to 20 time at least) :)
You live out in the country though, any chance that the postal folks can't find your house or something?

Not really. It's still in towns limits, just on the edge. Out 5 times I will get 1 time where I newer receive it.

Interesting pattern: if I order it on Monday before 14:00, then it is always delivered. If any other day and any hour... Good luck...

Get new VLC in mail, go onto motortax website, hit lost my pin, enter your details and email, new pin 1 min later, pay tax.

    simples.
