Is there anything like www.lendingclub.com in Ireland?

    It seems like a great idea and I heard Kevin Rose (founder of digg.com for those that didn't know) mention that the average return is about 8% including people defaulting on loans if you have you investment spread out over a big enough audience (2000 loans @ $25 a pop)

    Not that I'd be able to afford 2000 loans any time soon but I wonder would the return rate be higher for smaller investments too.

    Nah nothing like that here as under Irish legislation each lender would have to register as a money lender which wouldn make it viable.
