I have in my possession a 1964 half dollar that is 80mm in diameter and 4mm thick, it doesn't seem to be made of silver (like the normal half-dollar coin). One friend thought it could be a minting template coin made to see the final product will look like (currently its done via computer programmers etc but not in '64) some one else suggested it might be a teaching tool to show young children what the coin would look like. Does someone know what it is because its really bugging me?!!? Please see attached photos of the coin.

P.s. This coin is far larger than the normal half dollar coin almost 3 times in diameter and twice as thick.
