Think I may be bisexual?

    Hi.

    I am a 24 year male. I have always been aware of my sexual attraction to girls, and I have considered myself to be completely normal in this respect. However, recently I have begun to wonder if that is the full extent of my sexuality.

    I went to an all boys school where the usual prejudices against homosexuality. I never remember having any tendencies in that direction, but I do recall having a certain admiration for the shape of the male body. This didn't seem to be in any way sexual at the time.

    More recently a few things happened that made me wonder if I am in fact bisexual. On more than a few occasions I talked to gay men on nights out, and told them that I am gay. I even exchanged phone numbers with a few, although I didn't touch them, not even a hug. Then I found myself looking at a video of a naked man online, and I became erect. This was strange for me because I have seen naked men before and this never happened. It has repeated a few times since then. I explained it by saying that seeing a naked man in a video was something I associated with sexual images which included women, and so I was aroused by this association rather than the man himself. This explanation seems a bit tenuous however.

    So I am wondering, is it possible to realise that you are bisexual at the age of 24? Do you think I am bisexual based on what I have said. If I am bisexual what should I do?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I think if seeing a man on a boner gives you a boner then you are a gay. or bi in this situation.

    Any belief that sexuality is something easily definable is misguided. The closest thing to a definition, or in this case, a range of definitions, is the Kinsey Scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale

    Even this attempt to compartmentalise sexuality is based on the very nebulous subject of personal experience. Usually, a person's position on the Kinsey Scale is determined by a series of questions, based primarily on reactions and experiences of various sexual stimuli, and doesn't (and can't) make any allowances for personal and social biases.

    In short... do what makes you happy and don't waste time trying to pin a tail on it.
